Premium corrosion prevention products engineered to withstand high operating temperatures, mechanical stress, and harsh chemical environments.
Modern industrial and municipal pipeline networks operate under increasingly demanding conditions. High-temperature pipelines transporting crude oil, natural gas, steam, and chemical fluids are subject to severe thermal expansion, chemical attack, and mechanical stresses. Protecting the field joints—the weakest links in any pipeline network—requires reliable material technologies. Standard heat shrink sleeves often degrade when subjected to prolonged temperatures above 60°C, leading to adhesive shearing, water ingress, and localized corrosion.
As a leading Chinese supplier of high-temperature shrink wrap and protective sleeves, CYCT New Materials has engineered a comprehensive suite of cross-linked polyolefin, viscoelastic, and composite fiber systems. These materials maintain their performance up to continuous service temperatures of 120°C and above, offering long-term stability and cathodic disbondment resistance.
Our sleeves utilize electron-beam radiation to cross-link the molecular structure of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP). This transition gives the backing "elastic memory," allowing it to shrink tightly onto the pipe joint while maintaining chemical and thermal stability.
State-level high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales, buried pipeline detection, and pipeline coating services.

From trenchless crossings in sub-zero terrains to deep sea installations, explore how high-temperature shrink wrap protects vital infrastructure.
Trenchless construction exerts high shear and abrasive force on pipeline coatings during pull-back. Regular heat shrink sleeves can buckle or tear under these forces. Our combination of Fiberglass Reinforced Sleeves (FRP) and Moisture Curing Shields forms a rock-hard composite shell over the joint, safeguarding the primary corrosion coating from mechanical damage.
Thermal oil pipelines and insulated steam grids subject the pipe body to constant thermal cycling. CYCT's PP field joint systems and solvent-free epoxy primers resist thermal degradation up to 120°C, maintaining adhesion to the steel pipe and preventing water ingress.
Offshore lay barges require fast-acting field joint systems that cure and shrink quickly to match the cycle time of laying pipe. CYCT's PP heat shrink sleeves and solvent-free high-temperature epoxies bond rapidly to line pipe coatings, providing resistance to subsea water immersion and high pressures.
As pipeline operators seek to maximize efficiency, operating temperatures are projected to increase. CYCT is actively researching next-generation smart materials, including shape memory polyurethane-based heat shrink systems capable of resisting continuous service temperatures of 150°C. Additionally, our R&D team is developing self-healing adhesive systems that use microcapsule technology to automatically repair micro-cracks before moisture can reach the steel substrate.

Polyethylene (PE) heat shrinkable sleeves are typically rated for operational temperatures up to 60°C or 80°C. For pipeline systems operating at higher temperatures (ranging from 90°C up to 120°C+), Polypropylene (PP) heat shrinkable sleeves are recommended. PP provides superior mechanical strength, high resistance to soil stress, and maintains adhesion under elevated thermal loads.
The liquid epoxy primer forms the primary barrier against corrosion, chemical attack, and cathodic disbondment by bonding directly to the blasted steel surface. The subsequent copolymer adhesive layer bonds the backing to this epoxy layer, creating a continuous, impermeable, three-layer protection scheme.
Viscoelastic tape, such as our VT95, consists of non-crystalline polyolefin-based compounds that remain viscous. It flows into irregularities on the steel surface, providing self-healing protection. Because it does not cure, it resists cracking and degradation caused by expansion and contraction in thermal-cycle services up to 95°C.
For Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), we offer a multi-layer system featuring a primary heat-shrink sleeve protected by a Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) outer wrapping and a Moisture Curing Shield. This composite armor protects the corrosion barrier from scraping, impact, and shear forces encountered when pulling the pipe string through rocky or abrasive soil.
Key parameters include steel preheat temperature, surface cleanliness (typically ISO 8501-1 Sa 2.5), anchor pattern depth, uniform primer wet-film thickness (WFT), sleeve shrinking temperature, and the absence of air bubbles or wrinkles under the backing. Adhering to these specifications prevents cathodic disbondment and water ingress.
CYCT's anti-corrosion products are tested to comply with international industry standards, including ISO 21809-3, EN 12068 Class C, NACE SP0169, and AWWA C214. Our laboratory is nationally accredited by CNAS, confirming that each batch is tested for peel strength, lap shear, hot-water immersion, and impact resistance.
