Frequently Asked Questions

What is the shelf life of HTEP Epoxy Resin Primer?
The shelf life of HTEP Epoxy Resin Primer is 24 months when stored at a maximum temperature of 50℃ in its original sealed container.
What is the recommended mix ratio for the primer?
The recommended mix ratio is 5:1 (base to hardener). Pour the cure agent into the epoxy resin primer base and stir for 3-5 minutes to ensure uniform mixture.
What is the pot life of the mixed primer?
The pot life at 23℃ is approximately half an hour. It is important to apply the primer within this timeframe after mixing to ensure optimal performance.
What surface preparation is required before applying the primer?
Clean all burrs, weld slag, spatter, and other contaminants from the steel surface. Preheat the surface to 30-40℃ and perform sandblasting to Grade Sa2.5 according to ISO8501-1 standards. The surface profile should be 50-100μm.
Under what conditions should application work be stopped?
Application should not start or should be interrupted when: ambient temperature is below 5ºC, surface temperature is below 3ºC of the dew point, humidity is above 85%, or during rain, snow, fog, windy conditions with sand, or when the surface has moisture or freeze.
What is the recommended curing temperature and time?
The recommended cure temperature profile is 80-90℃ for 5 minutes. This ensures proper curing and optimal adhesion of the primer to the substrate.
