Product Description

The composition of the pipe wrap tape - polypropylene rubberized bitumen consists of three layers, PP film backing, rubberized bitumen adhesive layer and separator sheet.

Adhesive: Rubberized bitumen Compound
Film Backing: Polypropylene woven geotextile
Interleaving: Silicone coated separator sheet

Product Features

Non-Shielding Anti-Corrosion Structure: Adopts a non-shielding design that does not interfere with the normal operation of the pipeline's cathodic protection system.

Superior Cathodic Disbondment Resistance: PP Cold Tape adhesive layer has strong bonding force with steel substrates, which significantly extends the service life of pipelines.

Excellent UV Resistance: The PP backing material has good UV resistance capability, which is not easy to age, crack or degrade when exposed to outdoor environments for a long time. It is suitable for open-air conditions such as overhead pipelines and roofs.

High Mechanical Strength: The woven structure endows the material with excellent mechanical strength. After being buried underground, it can resist external forces such as soil settlement, extrusion and plant root penetration, keeping the coating intact.

Effective Moisture Barrier: The rubberized bitumen adhesive layer has high compactness, which can effectively block the intrusion of moisture, vapor and corrosive media.

Strong Flexibility: The PP Cold Applied Tape has strong flexibility, which can closely adhere to pipeline curved surfaces, corners and irregular bases. Moreover, the overall thickness is uniform without local thin spots, ensuring stable protection effect.

Waterproof Sealing Performance: PP Cold Applied tape has excellent waterproof sealing performance, which can be widely used in various scenarios such as basements, bridges, roofs, storage tanks and culverts, effectively blocking the penetration of surface water and groundwater.

💬Frequently Asked Questions

What is polypropylene rubberized bitumen tape used for?
Polypropylene rubberized bitumen tape is primarily used for anti-corrosion protection of pipelines, including underground, overhead, and marine applications. It provides excellent waterproofing and can also be used for basements, bridges, roofs, storage tanks, and culverts.
What are the main advantages of PP cold applied tape?
The main advantages include superior cathodic disbondment resistance, excellent UV resistance for outdoor applications, high mechanical strength to resist soil pressure and root penetration, strong flexibility for irregular surfaces, and effective moisture barrier properties. It also features a non-shielding design that doesn't interfere with cathodic protection systems.
What temperature range can this tape withstand?
The tape is tested and performs well at temperatures ranging from 23°C to 60°C. It maintains its adhesive properties and mechanical strength across this temperature range, making it suitable for various climate conditions.
Is the tape compliant with international standards?
Yes, the polypropylene rubberized bitumen tape meets ISO21809-3 Type 12B-1 standards. All technical performance parameters are tested according to specified annexes and meet or exceed the required specifications.
Can the tape be customized for specific project requirements?
Yes, custom-made options are available to meet any customer special demands. The manufacturer can adjust specifications such as thickness, width, and other properties based on specific project requirements.
How does the tape perform in underground applications?
The tape performs excellently in underground applications due to its woven structure that provides high mechanical strength. It can resist external forces such as soil settlement, extrusion, and plant root penetration while maintaining coating integrity. The rubberized bitumen adhesive layer effectively blocks moisture, vapor, and corrosive media intrusion.
