PE copolymer-based adhesive.
The Hot MELT STICK is a heat-sensitive, PE copolymer-based stick used for small superficial damage (scratches) to PE-coatings where the damage does not extend to the bare metal. Installation is done with a standard gas torch. After eliminating all sharp edges, cleaning and preheating, the Hot MELT STICK is heated above the damaged area until becoming glossy. No filler is required. Molten adhesive shall be applied onto all scratch defects to achieve intimate contact with the substrate.
The Hot MELT STICK is specifically designed for repairing small superficial damage and scratches on PE-coatings where the damage does not extend to the bare metal substrate.
Only a standard gas torch is required for installation. No special equipment is necessary, making the repair process fast, easy, and cost-effective.
The softening point is 90ºC (194ºF) according to ASTM E-28 test method, ensuring reliable performance in various temperature conditions.
No filler is required. The molten adhesive is applied directly onto scratch defects to achieve intimate contact with the substrate after proper surface preparation.
The standard dimensions are 12.0 inches (305 mm) in length and 1.0 inch (25 mm) in diameter. Custom sizes are available according to requirements.
The shear strength is 2.0 MPa at 23ºC (73ºF) according to ASTM D-1002, providing durable reconstruction and resistance to high shear forces.
