Construction

3LPE Heat Shrink sleeve material and closures are manufactured from a thermally stabilized, ultraviolet-resistant, semi-rigid, high-density polyethylene. The 3LPE HSS backing is radiation cross-linked PE backing which provides superior abrasion, mechanical, and chemical attack resistance. And the inner surface of the sleeve is coated with a controlled thickness of a high-shear hot-melt copolymer adhesive. The high-performance adhesive provides high bond strength, high shear resistance, excellent resistance to cathodic disbondment, long-term stability and long-term corrosion protection for the linepipe joint.
