China Viscoelastic Coating System - High-Performance Anti-Corrosion Solutions from China Suppliers & Factory Supplier, Factories

The viscoelastic coating system offered by our China-based factory is designed as a robust two-layer or three-layer solution for superior protection. This system includes:, a) Viscoelastic anticorrosion mastic, specially formulated to fill gaps and grooves, ensuring a smooth surface finish. This application is ideal for valves and other irregularly shaped objects, b) Viscoelastic tape serves as the inner-layer coating. This advanced tape, made from a non-crystalline low-viscosity polyolefin compound, boasts exceptional self-sealing and anticorrosion properties. It can be directly applied without the need for a primer or adhesive, making it a cost-effective choice, c) A durable polymeric outer wrap completes the system, enhancing its longevity and resistance to harsh environmental conditions, As a leading supplier in the industry, our factory focuses on delivering high-quality viscoelastic coating solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of our customers

Product Description

Construction

The inner wrap is composed of a layer of non-crystalline, low-viscosity, and non-reactive polyolefin-based compound, reinforced with a fabric layer, and the polyolefin-based compound bonds directly to the substrate.

The second or outer polymeric tape layer is a two-layer wrapping tape. It has a polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), or polypropylene (PP) backing layer with a laminated butyl-rubber adhesive on one side. The outer-layer tape is compatible with the inner-layer tape and offers robust mechanical protection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a viscoelastic coating system?
A viscoelastic coating system is a multi-layer protective coating that combines an inner polyolefin-based compound layer with an outer polymeric tape layer (PVC, PE, or PP). This system provides corrosion protection and mechanical strength for pipelines and metal substrates.
What are the main components of the inner wrap?
The inner wrap consists of a non-crystalline, low-viscosity, non-reactive polyolefin-based compound reinforced with a fabric layer. This compound bonds directly to the substrate, providing excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance.
What temperature range can the viscoelastic coating withstand?
The coating system is designed to perform effectively from -20℃ (glass transition temperature) up to 70℃. It maintains its protective properties across this temperature range without crystallization or degradation.
What does "holiday detection" mean in the performance specifications?
Holiday detection refers to testing for pinholes, gaps, or discontinuities in the coating. The system passes holiday detection tests at high voltages (up to 25KV), confirming there are no defects that could compromise corrosion protection.
What is the minimum thickness of the viscoelastic coating system?
The inner layer has a minimum thickness of 1.5mm (typically 1.98mm in performance testing). After indentation resistance testing, the residual thickness must be at least 0.6mm to ensure continued protection.
How does the outer wrap protect the inner layer?
The outer polymeric tape (PVC, PE, or PP) with butyl-rubber adhesive provides robust mechanical protection against impact, indentation, and environmental damage. It is compatible with the inner layer and maintains strong peel strength at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
